The American Legion – Post 282 and Parade Ypsi is happy to
announce the 95th Annual Ypsilanti 4th of July Parade, presented by Ypsilanti Downtown
Development Authority (YDDA), and Hinton Realty.
The parade begins at 11:00 AM on July 4th. The parade route starts at the corner of Oakwood
and West Cross Street in Ypsilanti and will travel down West Cross Street, ending at Rice Street
in Ypsilanti’s Historic Depot Town.
This year’s parade features over 60 participants who live in, work in, love, and support Ypsilanti.
Participants include the marching bands from Ypsilanti Community High School and Lincoln
High School, local drag performers lead by Sir Guy, new clown Baha Blast, local funk band
Thunderbuck, classics such as the Firehouse Museum and the American Rosie the Riveter
Association, and America’s Got Talent Season 16 contestant and local hip-hop rising star
KidJay.
Our parade Grand Marshall is Washtenaw County Commissioner for District 6 Annie Somerville.
Somerville, an Eastern Michigan University graduate, is passionate about serving her district
with a focus on mental health and accessible housing. She is a fixture of the community with a
hands-on approach and supports a wide scope of local organizations that align with her goals
for District 6.
Businesses, groups, and organizations wishing to participate in the parade are invited to visit
our Facebook page @YpsiParade and fill out the registration form through July 2. A special
thank you to this year’s sponsors, the Ypsilanti DDA and Hinton Realty, as well as the
all-volunteer crew who help make this parade possible
