Ann Arbor, MI – The annual Ann Arbor Earth Day Festival will take place on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Leslie Science & Nature Center. Hosted by the City of Ann Arbor in partnership with community organizations, the festival brings together local businesses, nonprofits, and families to celebrate sustainability, nature, and community.
Visitors of all ages are invited to enjoy hands-on activities, live entertainment, educational experiences, and opportunities to connect with organizations working to protect and support the environment. The event is free and open to the public.
Festival highlights include:
New this year, the Office of Sustainability and Innovations (OSI) will activate the Energy House with a variety of family-friendly, community-building experiences. These activities include a pop-up clothing swap designed to reduce textile waste and encourage reuse.
At the clothing swap, participants may bring up to 10 items of clothing in good condition. Accessories such as bags, jewelry, and belts are also welcome. Participants are free to take clothing without bringing items, or donate items without taking anything. Clothing swaps help extend the life of garments, reduce environmental impact, and build community around sustainable practices.
Food trucks, including Samosa House and Rite Spice, will offer concessions and refreshments available for purchase throughout the event.
In keeping with the spirit of Earth Day, the festival will operate as a zero-waste event. Organizers aim to maintain the event’s average of diverting 90 percent of waste from landfills. Visitors are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles and dispose of waste in designated receptacles.
Parking at the site can be limited. Attendees are encouraged to carpool, bike, walk, or use public transportation when possible.
Ann Arbor’s Earth Day Festival is made possible through the support of local donors and sponsors, including the City of Ann Arbor, DTE, Embrace Orthodontics, Gretchen’s House, Once Upon A Child, and Robertson Morrison.
