St. Andrew’s Society of Detroit’s Highland Games is Celebrating 176 years, Detroit and Michigan’s oldest benevolent society. The St. Andrew’s Society of Detroit proudly presents the longest running, continuous Highland Games in North America on Saturday, August 2nd beginning at 8am, at historic Greenmead in Livonia at Eight Mile and Newburgh Rd. There will be heavy Scottish athletic events and marching pipe bands, also food, live music, and a Wee Bairns play area for the youngsters; there is fun for everyone! To help you get your “Scottish” on, you’ll enjoy shopping our onsite vendors! The Cèilidh (pronounced as kaylee), a huge, live music party under the big tent, kicks off at 6pm on Friday, August 1st at Greenmead. The Cèilidh is an adult party, featuring rousing Scottish music bands and favorite beverages.
