The Northville Art House invites visitors from across Metro Detroit and beyond to experience the Northville Art House Art Market, a three-day celebration of art, creativity, food, and community in historic downtown Northville.
The Art Market is held August 14 – 16 during the following times:
- Friday, August 14, 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm
- Saturday, August 15, 10:00 am – 8:00 pm
- Sunday, August 16, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
The Art Market transforms Center and Main streets of downtown Northville into a vibrant outdoor gallery and creative destination, featuring 100 participating artists, food vendors, sponsors, nonprofit organizations, and downtown businesses.
More than 85 juried artists from Michigan and across the country will showcase original artwork spanning painting, ceramics, photography, sculpture, jewelry, glass, fiber art, woodworking, mixed media, printmaking, metalwork, and contemporary craft.
Artists representing 16 Michigan counties and six state including Michigan, Ohio, Florida, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas will participate in this year’s event. More than half of the artists reside within the four-county Metro Detroit region, while others travel from throughout the Midwest and beyond.
Participating artists include Detroit-based marbling artist Teesha Lieber of Spontaneity Works, Detroit apparel designer Christina Liedtke of ASTOURI, Ypsilanti metal sculptor Bryant Tubbs, Plymouth photographer Carol LaBelle, Royal Oak painter Mary Haapala, Haslett clay sculptor Suphattra Pollack, and dozens of emerging and established artists from across Michigan.
Approximately 54 percent of participating artists reside in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, and Washtenaw counties, with Oakland County artists representing the largest regional group. Fourteen artists come from Northville-area communities including Novi, Livonia, Plymouth, Canton, South Lyon, Wixom, and Farmington Hills.
“The Art Market creates opportunities for artists to connect directly with the public while supporting local businesses and contributing to the vitality of downtown Northville,” said Shannon Karol, Executive Director of the Northville Art House. “Visitors can experience exceptional artwork, meet the artists, enjoy local food, and spend the day exploring our community.”
In addition to the artist marketplace, visitors can enjoy:
- The Interactive Art Activity Tent sponsored by Orin Jewelers
- Food vendors including Parisa Cafe Co., Q Sweets, Almonds R Nuts, The Custard Hut, and Whole Enchilada
- Community participation from Tipping Point Theatre, Northville Gear and Gazelle Sports
- Family-friendly activities and hands-on art experiences
The event is made possible through the support of sponsors Renewal by Andersen, Culligan Water, and Orin Jewelers.
The Northville Art House Art Market celebrates creativity as well as supports independent artists, small businesses, restaurants, and downtown commerce. With attendance expected to reach between 10,000 and 15,000 visitors, the event contributes significant economic activity to the local community while strengthening Northville’s reputation as a regional arts destination.
Admission is free and open to the public.
