Community Tree Pilot Project: Tree Survey
The survey period closes March 21, 2022.
Please spend 10 minutes to take the online survey for your municipality (Bridgewater Township, Sharon Township, Ypsilanti Township, & the City of Ypsilanti). If you do not have reliable access to the internet or a working email address, WCCD will have paper copies available at locations in your municipality (see info below). A paper copy can also be mailed to you by calling WCCD at 734-302-8715 or using the request form on this page. The survey period closes March 21, 2022. Results from the pilot project will be shared at a public meeting in fall 2022.
Fruit Tree Maintenance and Pruning for Backyard Growers
The Frosty Apple Family Orchard, 6884 Walsh Rd, Dexter, MI 48130
April 2nd, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
This workshop will help homeowners and hobbyists successfully maintain fruit trees, especially apples. We will cover the basics of fruit tree care and pest management (insects, diseases, weeds, and wildlife) as well as pruning for new and overgrown fruit trees, including an outdoor pruning demonstration. Presenters include: Amy Irish-Brown and Anna Wallis, MSU Extension. Please dress appropriately for the weather – this event will be held in a barn and outside on uneven ground. No public restroom. Limited capacity, preregistration required, $5 fee supports WCCD’s School and Community Habitat Grant. Registration will open soon!
