Fly in a Huey on Memorial Day

 The Yankee Air Museum proudly announces its Huey helicopter, Greyhound, will participate in a ride in event on May 30th, Memorial Day, at Central Park in Milford, MI. No reservations are required for the rides, just walk up to the staging area at Carl’s Family YMCA, 300 Family Drive, Milford, MI 48183. The Greyhound served in the Vietnam War from 1967 until 1971. It was part of the 240th Assault Helicopter Company know as The Greyhounds, Mad Dogs, and Kennel Keepers. The Greyhound Bus Company was honored by the name and gave the company permission to use its logo. A versatile helicopter, the UH-1 was used as a gun ship, medical evacuation and for utility purposes.

Your flight is a 10-minute thrilling experience with doors wide open (weather permitting). It costs $99.00 per person and the helicopter can take 10 passengers per ride. The Huey is expected to arrive a 9:00am and will sell rides through 3:00pm (demand and weather dependent). Along with the Huey rides in Milford, the Yankee Air Museum will also provide Memorial Day parade flyovers in its WWII transport/cargo aircraft, Hairless Joe, a C-47. You can spot the C-47 over the Dearborn parade at 10:20am, the Milford parade at 11:15am, and the Hartland parade at 11:25am (all times subject to change). Along with the flyover, the Yankee Air Museum Tribute Rosies Drill Team will be marching in the St. Clair parade on May 29th and the Royal Oak parade on the 30th.
