The Northville Art House presents the long-standing West of Center: Juried All-Media Exhibition

Artists Embrace New Challenges in the Annual West of Center Exhibition

The Northville Art House presents the long-standing West of Center: Juried All-Media Exhibition, September 2 – 26. This year’s exhibition, the 12th annual, features 45 works by 29 artists from Michigan and around the country. The work, selected by acclaimed automobile painter Tom Hale, reveals each artist’s creative effort to build on artistic tradition and embrace new experiments in the visual arts.

Creative Director Ryan Kaltenbach explains, “Each year the Art House strives to bring imaginative and diverse artwork to the community through the West of Center exhibition. Artwork that demonstrates contemporary artists pushing their craft and creative expression to new limits.”

Visitors will be required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing. There will be a maximum of 12 visitors allowed in the building to view the exhibition with clockwise traffic flow encouraged and a limited of 2 patrons in the store unless individuals are from the same household group. Enhanced cleaning is conducted daily and hand sanitizer is available throughout the building.

West of Center opens with an outdoor reception from 5 – 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 2. At 6 p.m. the winners will be announced. The exhibition runs through September 26 during Art House hours, Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. A virtual exhibition is presented simultaneously. The Northville Art House is located at 215 W. Cady in Northville. For information call 248-344-0497 or visit www.northvillearthouse.org.
