CALL FOR ARTISTS for the FINE POINT: JURIED COLORED PENCIL EXHIBITION
May 3 – June 1, 2019

The Northville Art House announces a CALL FOR ARTISTS for the FINE POINT: JURIED COLORED PENCIL EXHIBITION Member’s Exhibition to be held at the Northville Art House, 215 W. Cady, Northville, MI, from May 3 to June 1, 2019. This exhibition will showcase the beauty, richness, and versatility of colored pencil through two-dimensional works selected by juror Barbara Goodsitt.

Artists, 18 and over, may submit a maximum of 3 two-dimensional works of art created primarily in colored pencil within the last 2 years, and not previously exhibited at the Northville Art House. Images produced by drawing over a digital reproduction and reproductions of artwork (giclee, print, etc.) are not allowed. The maximum size of work including the width of the frame is 44” in any direction. Artwork is preferred to be for sale.

The deadline for all entries to be submitted is Sunday, March 17, 11:59 PM EST. The entry fee is $25 for Art House members and $35 for non-members. Artists will be competing for over $650 in awards including cash prizes for 1st through 4th place. The reception is Friday, May 3, from 6 – 9 pm with awards presentation at 7 pm. The Art House seeks sponsors for the exhibition.

ABOUT THE JUROR

Barbara Goodsitt has a BFA with Honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA), Michigan Chapter of CPSA, and Detroit Artists Market. She currently is on the Board of Directors of the Ann Arbor Women Artists organization.

Goodsitt has illustrated over 20 books for the University of Michigan Press. Her art has been featured in Ann Kullberg’s publications and the Icarus Art Drawing Board and by the UART Pastel Paper websites. Barbara teaches Drawing in Colorfor Washtenaw Community College and frequently leads colored pencil workshops. She exhibits her work in juried art exhibitions and galleries. Feedspot.com, an online content reader, recently selected her art blog, https://barbaragoodsitt.blogspot.com, as one of the top 25 colored pencil blogs on the web.

The Northville Art Houseis a non-profit organization that operates as a governmental department of the City of Northville, MI. The Art House has been a community gathering place since 2005 with the mission to bring the best of the arts to our community through exhibits and education. The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday 12:00 – 5:00 pm, Saturday 12:00 – 4:00 pm, First Fridays 6:00-9:00 pm, and special events as advertised. The Northville Art Houseis located at 215 W.
