The American Legion – Post 282 and Parade Ypsi is happy to announce the return of the Ypsilanti 4th of July Parade! The 93rd Annual Ypsilanti Independence
Day Parade will be held on Monday July 4th at 11:00am.
The parade begins on the corner of Oakwood and West Cross Street and will travel down West Cross Street and end at Rice Street in Ypsilanti’s Historic Depot Town.
There are over 50 participants in this year’s parade including veterans, marching bands, and many others! We have Ypsilanti Community High and Lincoln High School Marching Bands, the Fire House Museum, The Harmony Collective, also classics like the Rolling Relics, Red Hat society, and The Rosies.
There will be awards given to Best Band, Best Variety Group, Best Talent, and Best Presentation.
The Grand Marshall will be Mike Kabat, the Beloved owner of the dearly missed HAABs restaurant that he had operated since 1976 out of its 87–year run.
We are proud to honor him this year as he and his establishment have given the Ypsilanti community so much over the past 40 years!
Businesses, Groups and Organizations are still welcome to sign up if they are interested in being a part of this year’s parade, they can sign up by going to our Facebook page– @YpsiParade and filling out an application.
We will have volunteers walking along the parade with buckets to collect donations, to keep this great community event going. Supporters can also donate to the Parade via our Facebook page.
The American Legion appreciates the continued support of the community for this event.
