Stop by the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum for Hands-On Holidays 2019: All About You and learn about biology and our amazing human bodies in a series of hands-on activities and workshops.
There will be fun for the whole family!
Hands-On Holidays returns to the Museum from December 21 – January 5th. Most activities and all performances for Hands-On Holidays are included with admission. Please note: The Museum is closed from December 24th to 25th and is open January 1st from noon to 5pm.

During Hands-On Holidays, continue your child’s learning over the break with engaging add-on workshops every day! Workshops are $6 per child ($4 for members) in addition to admission and run for 30-40 minutes. Come explore DIY Bath Bombs, Bridge Building, Slime Time, Music and Movement, and more! Keep your child’s learning and enthusiasm for science going with additional fun, education activities throughout the museum included with your admission, that are focused on All About You! Activities will include: X-Ray Vision, Fingerprinting, Skeletal Scale, Joint Olympics and many more!

The Music Lady
Dec 27th from 11am-2pm and Dec 29th from 12pm-3pm
Join Beverly Meyer, The Music Lady, for an interactive musical performance by using song, movement, props and instruments for a hands-on musical experience!
Mr. Dan’s Music
Dec 21st, 23rd, 30th and Jan 2nd at 11am and 2pm
Join Mr. Dan for an interactive and educational musical presentation. Have fun learning about music from near and far with unique instruments and hands-on activities.
Music of the Middle East
Jan 3rd from 12-4pm
Ara Topouzian is an Armenian-American musician whose proficiency at the Kanun (Middle Eastern harp) has made him a nationally-recognized artist. Topouzian’s traditional music style keeps to his Armenian heritage but has expanded to include music from around the Middle East with jazz, fusion, and new age influences.
Tumbao Bravo
Dec 28th from 1pm-4pm
Formed in August 2003 by reedman Paul VornHagen and conguero Alberto Nacif, this exciting Cuban jazz combo has been featured on all the major jazz public radio stations throughout the U.S. Come join us for an afternoon of music and movement to this live band!
Magical Rain Theaterworks
Dec 26th at 1pm & 3pm
Magical Rain Theaterworks creates moments of discovery with a mix of theater, myths, stories, innovative teaching techniques, guided discussions and creative arts activities. Encounter mystery, energy, and more in a performance that’s sure to be engaging for all!
Professor Ray’s Everyday Science
Jan 4th and 5th at 1pm & 3pm
Heads up! Watch out! We’ll be launching a tray of eggs with a broom (safely!), among other experiments, while we explore why and how objects move… or do not move! We will discover facts about gravity, inertia, air resistance and Newton’s laws of motion in many ways.
Lastly, don’t miss the final days of A World Without Ice, a unique and innovative exhibit at the Museum only through January 6th! A World Without Ice brings together the work of artists Michael Gould, Stephen Rush, and Marion Tränkle in collaboration with climate scientist Henry Pollack (co-recipient of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with IPCC colleagues and Al Gore) to create a multimedia exhibit focusing on Earth’s changing climate.
