Mass at Sunrise on Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday this year is March 6, and St Mary Catholic Church in Manchester invites all to a special “Sunrise Mass” at 7:00 am to begin the prayerful season of Lent by observing the ancient tradition of receiving ashes on the forehead. This special Mass will be brief, i.e. no music or sermon, so that those with work and other commitments still will be able to begin Lent with this powerful sign. “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” St. Mary is the fieldstone church, located on Main Street in the Village of Manchester.
