Squash Amash Rally in Grand Rapids
Event will be Held on June 14 to Also Celebrate Trump’s Birthday and Flag Day
Grand Rapids, MI [Immediate Release]: Michigan Trump Republicans will host a “Squash Amash” rally to respond to Congressman Justin Amash’s continuing attacks on President Donald J. Trump.
The “Squash Amash” rally will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, June 14 at 110 Michigan St NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, the location of Amash’s local office. That date is also President Trump’s birthday and the date that America celebrates Flag Day.
“Congressman Amash surely may have his opinions,” said Meshawn Maddock, co-founder of MTR. “Many Republicans said nothing as he voted again and again like a Pelosi Democrat. To note only a few such votes, Amash voted against protecting first responders, voted against “Kate’s Law” to increase penalties on illegals who re-enter and commit more violent crimes and voted against a balanced budget!”
“But when he joined with radical Democrat ‘Never Trumpers’ this event was launched. Our supporters and voters in his District now know that he does not represent Michigan values. District 3 voters have heard enough. It’s time to squash Amash and elect a true conservative in 2020.”

“The loudest voices supporting Representative Amash are left-wing Democrats in his District who understand that electing him is the same as electing a Democrat,” said Diane Schindlbeck, founder of West Michigan Republicans. “Republicans need to wise up and elect someone who represents our values! I meet with voters in District 3 every day. None of them are happy to have Amash supposedly be their representative in Washington. Squash Amash is something I hear daily.”
The Squash Amash rally will be held outdoors, rain or shine, so come dressed for the weather. To honor Flag Day, those who attend are encouraged to bring American flags. Please use appropriate language on all homemade Squash Amash signs, but come to be heard. Signs supporting President Trump are also encouraged.
“Trump’s America First message remains very strong in Michigan. With numerous events already completed in 2019, MTR volunteers hear regularly from Trump backers across the state. Trump’s message continues to generate excitement wherever we go—even in Amash’s District,” said Maddock. “As Trump’s strongest supporters, we know that the radical left, the political establishment and the “Never Trumpers’ will continue to attack our President and, frankly, those who support him.”
