Santa to Visit Yankee Air Museum

Yankee Air Museum today announced that one of the world’s premier aviators, Santa Claus, will be coming to the Museum on Saturday, December 22, 2018. Santa declassified his itinerary to allow the announcement and provided few details on this special visit. Due to the training, feeding and resting schedules of his reindeer prior to their big flight, Santa will arrive by helicopter. A landing zone on the north side of the museum will be cleared for Santa’s landing at 11:00 a.m. Yankee Air Museum is located on the east side of historic Willow Run Airport, 47884 D Street, Belleville, Michigan, 48111. Everyone is welcome to attend, and children’s admission is free all day, adults free until 11:30 a.m.
“I personally worked with Santa’s security detail to arrange this visit,” said Kevin Walsh, Executive Director of the Museum. “It’s important for all children to have an opportunity to talk with Santa and this is one of Santa’s last visits before Christmas Eve. We are honored to have him come here.”
Upon landing, Santa will be escorted into the Museum where he will greet all the good boys and girls. He will be giving out candy canes and passes for a free visit to Yankee Air Museum in the future.
Walsh said the Museum hosted Santa Claus in the past and it was very informative, however the technology of his sleigh was never revealed. According to Walsh, Santa is always generous in his comments about historic aviation technology, but he also reminds people that he was flying long before the Wright Brothers. Walsh said he hopes to closely examine Santa’s sleigh one day.
“As a Museum, it’s important for us to bring heroes of aviation to the community, and we think Santa Claus, and his mission, should always be at the forefront of aerospace research,” concluded Walsh.
