The Saline Area Players Present
Scrambled

Saline Area Players present Scrambled at 7:30 PM on March 21, 22 & 23 at The 5th Corner, 211 Willis Rd, Saline. Playgoers are in for a treat with this totally fun small-town heart-warming comedy written by Pat Cook, who also wrote last year’s success “Murder for Dummies.”

Tickets, $16/person, are available ahead of time via the website, www.salineareaplayers.org, or at the door (with cash or check). Will call tickets can be reserved via email at scrambled@salineareaplayers.org or by phone at 734-546-8584. Doors will open at 7:00 PM before each performance for general admission seating. There are steps leading into the seating and restroom areas.

The play takes place in the fictitious Showtime Café famous for such dishes as “Fistful of Dollar Pancakes” and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Ham,” named after movies. Purdy, the owner, is getting ready for a food critic purported to be in town and then she also learns that her old boyfriend is back in town. She and Austin made a pledge that if they weren’t hooked up to anyone else in 25 years after high school, they’d get together. During her flutter of activity, the elderly town gossips, Amelia and Celia, spread the word and all watch out for both the critic and the boyfriend. Oracle, practically a fixture in the place, meantime gives Cody advice on winning over his sweetheart Jeanie (waitress) which ends up in an engagement, much to Jeanie’s delight and Cody’s surprise. A new couple, the Grants, show up in town creating even more confusion. And the big question is, will Purdy and Austin get together?

The show is directed by Mary Rumman. Cast members include: Barbara Day, Jerry Doty, Gary Glover, John Harrell, Taylor Hart, Emma Hutchinson, Brent Lofgren, Ann Marie Mann, Kyle Newmeyer, Patti Ringe, Alex Ross, Krissa Rumsey, Karrie Waarala, and Hannah Weatherly. Debra Warila is the set builder and technical director. Margi Chriscinske (props/set dressing) is working on a gorgeous set filled with beautiful movie posters. Sara Honsowetz, the costumer, has a few fun surprises in store. Alyssa Dawson produces.

There is a little bit of everything in this show – small town flavor, romance, and plenty of laughs. Be prepared to laugh – it’s guaranteed to be a fun night out!
