Salem Area Historical Society (SAHS) Events for Jan and Feb

Salem Area Historical Society hosts a Potluck Dinner & Salem Civil War Veterans Talk on

WEDNESDAY, January 22nd  — 6:00 PM at the Salem Township Hall  (9600 Six Mile Road).
Bring a dish to share with others for the Potluck dinner along with your plate, silverware and something to drink.
After the Potluck dinner and a short SAHS membership Meeting, members of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) Camp 180 will talk about the Civil War Veterans that are buried in the Salem Cemeteries of Olds, Worden, and Lapham.  The presenters, Bill Eaton and Mike Tavarozzi, are the officers of the SUVCW who did the research on the veterans who were honored during the August 17th Dedication at the South Salem Stone School.
Salem Area Historical Society presents The Underground Railroad (Local Connections) talk on
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 26th   — 7:30 PM at the Salem Township Hall (9600 Six Mile Road)
Salem Area Historical Society will be holding its monthly meeting on February 26th, at the Salem Township Hall    (9600 Six Mile Road) starting at 7:30 PM.  After the business portion, there will be a presentation by Kathy Bilger, on Southwestern Michigan’s part in The Underground Railroad, including information on local abolitionists, sites and events significant to Michigan’s Underground Railroad history.
