Back the Blue Event Supports Police
Rally will be at Bloomfield Township Police Department on July 3
Operation Back the Blue is a community led rally to show support for the men and women in law enforcement. The event will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3 outside the Bloomfield Township Police Department located at 4200 Telegraph Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48302.
“With so much negative publicity directed toward police officers who protect our lives, leaders in Oakland County have organized this Back the Blue event,” said Marian Sheridan (West Bloomfield) a co-founder of Michigan Conservative Coalition. “The purpose here is simple. We want all officers locally and across Oakland County and Michigan to understand that citizens support them and appreciate the incredibly difficult and dangerous job they have each day.”
Back the Blue rally will be outside the Bloomfield Township Police Department, so dress for the weather. The event will be held rain or shine. Families are encouraged to bring their children as this will be a family friendly event. Those attending are asked to make signs, carry flags and encourage children to create cards to leave with the police department to show our gratitude for their sacrifices. Please be respectful with any signage.
Additional parking is available at the 48th District Court lot which is off southbound Telegraph Road, just south of the Bloomfield Township Police Department location.
“Kick off the July 4th weekend by stopping in to support our police, said Sheridan. “This event is free, but will mean so much to those officers who need to know we are with them.”
