Northville’s Old Glory Exhibition at the Northville Art House Highlights Northville’s Iconic Flag Mural on the 20th Anniversary of 9/11

The Northville Art House will present the Northville’s Old Glory: Mural & Ephemera by Jeff Von Buskirk from September 1 – 30 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Northville artist Jeff Von Buskirk shares his memorabilia and artwork related to the iconic 30′ x 45′ mural of the U.S. flag painted on the wall of the Marquis Theatre in downtown Northville. Commissioned by Inge Zayti, the late founder and owner of the theatre, in 2002, and successfully restored through a community-wide effort in 2014, the mural, titled with the words, “America United September 11, 2001,” honors the memory of 9/11 and reflects the community and the nation coming together, then, and now.

Northville’s Old Glory runs September 1 – 30 during Fall hours at the Northville Art House, Tue – Thu 10 am – 5 pm and Fri – Sat 11 am – 3 pm. The public is invited to the Live @ 5 Reception, Friday, September 10, 5 – 8 pm at the Northville Art House where artist Jeff Von Buskirk will discuss his mural and artwork at 6:30 pm. Live @ 5 tickets cost $35 for members and $30 for non-members and include appetizers by Garage Grill and Fuel Bar, two drink vouchers, and live music by Alex Mendenhall.
