The Northville Art House is proud to showcase, David Breuch, Potter, currently selling at the Art House Store. David Breuch is an up and coming self-taught artist and potter. Born and raised in Madison, WI. David was given early recognition with a scholarship for combined excellence in arts and athletics. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and practicing lawyer, all while continuing to develop and refine his passion of wheel thrown pottery since his youth. David was drawn to Raku while attending open studio times at Delta College, BBAC and Schoolcraft College. David’s pieces reflect an influence from patterns found in nature, including raku fired forms with spontaneous, semi-controlled finishes using natural fibers such as horse hair. His horse hair method was developed as David experimented with the process. “I’m drawn to the method for its spontaneity and the natural patterns that seem to result.” says David. It also has the benefit of being a bit uncommon. David a lifelong photographer and student of the Northville Art House dabbling in Watercolor under instructor Jennifer Helner, who has been an influential teacher to him as she encouraged him to pursue his passion for art. Now a Novi resident, David is excited to display and sell his pottery at the Northville Art House for the first time. His work is in many private residences throughout the country and has been favorably auctioned in charitable fundraising events. The Art House Store is open Tuesday through Friday from 12 to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 12-4 p.m. and every First Friday of the month from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Store features the work of over 40 local artists.
