Owl Do I Love Thee –At Cobblestone Farm
Friday, February 14, 7 – 9 pm
Ages 18 and older, $25/couple LSNC Members, $30/non-members
Treat your special someone to an evening of romance and fun with our resident owls. Learn about their mating habits, enjoy an outdoor poetry walk, have tasty desserts and more! Nothing says “I love you” like a night out in nature! Please come dressed for the weather.
Nature Storytime – at Gallup Park
Most Wednesdays 10-11 am, Ages 1-5. Caregiver required and free!

Outdoor environments are a great way to engage all of your toddler’s developing senses, and get a bit of exercise! Explore and appreciate the outdoors, such as live animal visits, hikes, stories, and hands-on activities.
LSNC Scouts Workshops – At Gallup Park
New This year: Join LSNC in upcoming February scout workshops, happening at Gallup Park! Register your girl or cub scout troop and fulfill specific badge and adventure requirements with our 2-hour workshops. Receive a complimentary LSNC badge when you attend! During these workshops, scouts will get the chance to learn how humans can best interact with the natural world, meet live animals up close, and let your scouts explore Ann Arbor’s woodland areas with a certified interpretive guide! $10 per scout, 1 adult chaperone required for every 5 scouts registered. CORE Adventure
Scouts will take a hike into Furstenburg Nature Area and discover what plants and animals call this place home, while also exploring how cultivated plants thrive in our local gardens. Scouts will get the opportunity to meet and observe one native species up close, and learn about the adaptions it has that allow it to survive and thrive.

Juniors/Cadettes: Night Owl
What is the world like at night? Come to Gallup Park as we investigate what thrives in this natural space at night. Scouts will get the chance to meet a nocturnal animal up close, practice hiking at night, and understand how plants and animals have adapted to a nocturnal lifestyle.
Parents’ Night Out – Night at the Ann Arbor Hands-on Museum

Ages: Youth currently enrolled in K-6th grades
$30 per child ($25 per child for LSNC Enhanced Members)
It’s a night out for grown-ups while the kids enjoy an exciting evening at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. Every Night at the Museum we’ll do exciting activities that will explore different science concepts plus we’ll spend plenty of time exploring the museum!
$35 per child for non-members/$30 per child for members

Professor Ray’s Everyday Science: Chem Mystery
Saturday, February 1, 1 and 3 pm; Sunday, February 2, 1 and 3 pm
When substances change and become new substances a chemical change has taken place. It happens all around us in our homes, outdoors, and even in some of our toys. Chemistry is everywhere! Join Professor Ray as we explore everyday chemistry. Interactive demonstrations are included with admission and suitable for all ages. Time: 1 and 3 PM Saturday and Sunday. Location: Legacy Gallery on the second floor.

Can you land your egg-stronaut safely on the moon? Build your own moon lander in this fun twist on the egg drop challenge, then test your creation and see if your egg survives intact! Tickets: $6 general public, $4 members in addition to admission. Ages: All. Times: 1, 2 and 3 pm. Location: ScienceWorks classroom on the first floor.
Critters Up Close: Decomposers
Saturday, February 8, 10 – 4 pm; Sunday, February 9, 1 – 4 pm
Every month, our visitors get up close and personal with some of our favorite critters from the natural world, thanks to our friends at Leslie Science & Nature Center! Join us for a meet and greet with critters from 10-4 on Saturday (with a mid-day “Animal Naptime”) and 1-4 on Sunday. This month the featured critters are decomposers (worms and friends), and they are ready for their close up! This event is suitable for all ages and included with admission.

Walk on the gross side of science as we investigate how the eye works by dissecting a real cow eye and extracting strawberry DNA in this fun biology workshop. ScienceFest: The Chemistry of Love

Love on the brain? Stop by the Hands-On Museum this weekend as we use science to investigate the chemistry behind some of our favorite Valentine’s traditions. ScienceFest: Coding to the Moon in collaboration with Wild Swan Theater
Saturday, February 29, 10 – 4 pm; Sunday, March 1, 12 – 4 pm
Who is Margaret Hamilton? How did she help us reach the moon with math? Join us and the Wild Swan Theater in learning about the extraordinary life of one of the women who contributed to the success of the Apollo missions as we kick off a month of celebrating women in science. This weekend the museum will have math and coding activities for you to explore, then head to the Wild Swan Theater on the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th of March for the world premiere of their show Coding To The Moon that celebrates life and work of Margaret Hamilton in a gripping drama of the Apollo space missions. Activities are suitable for all ages and included with admission.

Scout Camp-Ins
February 14-15 and February 28-29, 7pm Saturday until 10 am Sunday
A limited number of overnight “Camp In” adventures are available at The Museum for groups of 60 or more. Whether you are getting all the Pack families together, or organizing a retreat for all the Girl Scouts in your area, our custom Camp In programs will fill your night with fun, play, and plenty of STEM Learning. Scout leaders can create a custom program selected from list of activities suited for mixed ages, or from a selection of short lab workshops that help fulfill badge and loop requirements. Your fee includes all programming, plus a late-night snack and bagel breakfast (with plenty of coffee!). Scout leaders are responsible for making sure that adult chaperones comply with all rules and ratios outlined by Boy Scouts of America or Girl Scouts. Camp-Ins are appropriate for participants age 6 and up.
