Join Washtenaw County Conservation District, Legacy Land Conservancy (Legacy), and graduate students from U-M SEAS for a walk in the woods to learn about beech leaf disease and how to spot it

Sunday, October 1st from 2:00-4:00 pm, rain or shine!

Meeting at Legacy Land Conservancy’s Shatter Preserve, 7810 Brookville Road, Plymouth, MI

Join WCCD, Legacy Land Conservancy (Legacy), and graduate students from U-M SEAS for a walk in the woods to learn about beech leaf disease and how to spot it. Much is still unknown about this relatively new disease which can damage and eventually kill both ornamental and native beech trees. We’ll meet at Legacy’s Shatter Preserve and then carpool to roadside parking at Legacy’s nearby Creekshead Preserve. Please wear comfortable footwear and bring water and bug spray. A boot washing station to disinfect gear will be provided. This event is free, but registration is required and slots will be limited to ensure an enjoyable field experience for all attendees.
