Hard Hats & Hot Dogs event to highlight upcoming renovations of Hackett Auto Museum Before construction of the Hackett Auto Museum gets underway this summer, museum officials are inviting the public to join them for a Hard Hats & Hot Dogs tour.
WHAT: Hard Hats & Hot Dogs will provide members of the community the chance to learn more about the Hackett Auto Museum’s plans to renovate and restore the former
Hackett Automobile Company building. Attendees may tour the site to discover its
historic roots and learn about its future transformation into the Hackett Auto
Museum. Junk Yard Dog will be at the event selling hot dogs, chili dogs, chips and
drinks. Antique and collector car owners are also encouraged to bring their
vehicles to showcase. Although the event is free, donations will be accepted.
WHEN: Saturday, June 9, 2018 (Rain or shine)
1 p.m – 5 p.m.
WHERE: Future home of the Hackett Auto Museum
615 Hupp Ave., Jackson, MI 49203
WHO: The event is being hosted by the Hackett Auto Museum. Museum officials and
volunteers will be available to answer questions regarding plans for the site and
provide tours of the facility.
WHY: Much of Jackson’s automotive history and culture can be traced back to the
Hackett Automobile Company building. The Hackett Auto Museum team
wants to give members of the community the chance to be part of its journey of
restoration from the ground up.
Please note: Due to the nature of the building’s current condition, our facility is not handicap
Guests are asked to wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. Hard hats will be provided or
attendees may bring their own.

Hackett Auto Museum is associated with the Horace & Mabel Hackett Foundation and is a non-profit
501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the preservation of the Hackett Automobile Company building, the
interpretation and celebration of Jackson’s automotive heritage and spirit of innovation. It is funded by
