Girl Scouts are thinking outside of the Cookie Box this fall with The Girl Scouts Treats & Reads Program!
Girl Scouts are thinking outside of the Cookie Box this fall with: Treats & Reads! The Girl Scouts Treats & Reads Program is very similar to the Girl Scout Cookie Program, only instead of Girl Scout Cookies, girls sell Treats (such as trail mix and chocolates) and Reads (magazine subscriptions).
The Girl Scouts Treats & Reads Program is not new, though it is certainly not as widely known as the Girl Scout Cookie Program. To hold you over until cookie season, which begins in January, try some of our delicious Treats like Cajun Nut Mix and Dill Pickle Peanuts, and Reads, like a subscription to your favorite magazine. From now until the end of December keep an eye out for “Nut Huts” where Girl Scouts are selling these yummy snacks outside of local stores.
The Girl Scouts Treats & Reads Program helps to establish a girl’s sense of entrepreneurship and teaches her five essential skills that will help her grow in entrepreneurial spirit. The five skills are Money Management, Business Ethics, Goal Setting, Decision Making, and People Skills. Participating in the Treats & Reads Program helps girls build skills to become the leaders of tomorrow.
We Are Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Through programs from coast to coast, Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges—whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice, or make their first best friends. Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them.
