FREE presentation and book sale/signing by best-selling author Jeff Jay
ANNOUNCING: FREE presentation and book sale/signing by best-selling author Jeff Jay, based on his latest book, “Navigating Grace: A Solo Voyage of Survival and Redemption”
Jeff Jay, an internationally-known Intervention specialist, clinician and best-selling author, knows first-hand the challenges that a person with alcohol/other drug addiction faces in sustaining recovery through the tribulations of life. Jeff’s own addiction took him to the brink of death and back, and the early days of his recovery were marked by tragedy: the end of his marriage, his father’s death, and his brother’s suicide. Seeking relief for the anguish in his soul, Jeff set out on a solo sea voyage from Annapolis, Maryland toward the Caribbean. An intense winter storm led to a week-long struggle against the elements that became for Jeff a journey not only of survival but of personal transformation. In this free presentation, “Navigating Grace: The Power of Connection and Transformation,” Jeff will describe the often-unlikely process of personal connection and the concepts of service and altruism that lie at the heart of Twelve Step recovery programs. The presentation will be based on Jeff’s most recent book, “Navigating Grace,” and will be liberally interwoven with compassion, humor, personal stories and real-life examples, including inspiring remembrances of the people who changed Jeff’s life forever.
When: Tuesday, December 18, 2018; from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm; with a book sale/signing opportunity following.
Where: St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Education Center auditorium, 5305 Elliott Drive, Ypsilanti, Michigan.
