This will be the last opportunity this year for those in the Detroit area to take a ride on the iconic WWII aircraft. With only three flying B-17s in North America, this opportunity is truly a rare chance to experience history in flight. The B-17 Flying Fortress was a heavy four-engine bomber in the US Army Air Force during WWII and was noted for its dangerous daylight missions over Germany.
The flight is a 30-minute experience and costs $525.00 per person. Once airborne, passengers are able to move to other positions in the aircraft including the nose, flight deck, bomb bay, radio room and waist gunnery section.
