Belle Isle Art Fair — Jewell of the Island
The beauty is yours for the taking Aug. 6-7 at the Belle Isle Art Fair. Located around the historic and beautiful James Scott Memorial Fountain, the Jewel of Belle Isle, this juried open air show features 100 local, regional and national painters, jewelers and artists of all kinds from 18 states.
In addition to the juried featured artists, the Belle Isle Art Fair includes arts activities and presentations from:
- Mint Artists Guild with young emerging artists presenting amazing work.
- Hannan House sponsoring the Heritage Tent with senior artists who would otherwise not participate.
- Anton Art Center family art activities
There is also an additional focus on Sustainable Beauty with an exhibit on sustainable nature from the Michigan Wildlife Federation. Detroit Recycling will distribute information, and MOGO, the bike sharing system, will have special offers on annual and monthly passes.
Of course there will be MUSIC with Vibraphone and Tsimbaly throughout the festival. Special Guests- Silver Strings Dulcimers, The Band Mint and Urban Violinist Kym Brady
There will be food trucks to satisfy your taste and a beer truck with offerings to slake your thirst.
Come enjoy fine art, the beautiful revived river vistas and freedom of movement in the open fresh air at the Belle Isle Art Fair Aug. 6-7.
