AUTHORS INVITED TO BE A PART OF NORTHVILLE’S SHORT ON WORDS POETRY AND SHORT STORY CONTEST…The contest submission deadline is Friday, April 22
The Northville Art House (Northville, MI) is proud to be a part of the Short on Words Poetry and Short Story Contest, presented by Dr. William Demray, founder of Preservation Dental in Northville. The tenth year – ninth edition of the event invites authors of all ages to write 1500 words or less, in the form of a poem or short story, about one of the ten photographs taken by Dr. Demray.
This year, Short on Words has expanded the contest by offering authors from around the country to submit prose by mail as well as through a new online submission form. Authors submit prose under one of two categories: ages 17 and under and ages 18 and older. Cash awards for each age category include: first prize: $100; second prize; $50; and third prize: $25.
Winners will be announced at an Author Brunch to be held on Saturday, June 18 at the Northville Art House, 215 W. Cady, in conjunction with Northville Art House’s annual Arts & Acts Festival.
The contest submission deadline is Friday, April 22. Proceeds from the $10 entry fee benefit the Northville Art House, a 501(c)3 non-profit art facility.
Visit www.northvillearthouse.org/artsandacts/shortonwords/ for contest rules, photographs, and the mail-in and online entry forms. Following The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), authors 12 and under must submit by mail.
