Astronomy at the Beach is Virtual This Year – A Free STEM Experience
Over the past 24 years, local astronomers have given telescopic views of the heavens to hundreds of thousands of visitors; larger telescopes at this event frequently had long lines of visitors waiting for a look through the eyepiece.
This year, Astronomy at the Beach will be an online event – but our content is better than ever!
Talks by professional astronomers.
Cool Science Demonstrations.
Astronomy teacher discussion panel.
Live telescope viewing from sites across the U. S.
Educational (and short) YouTube video suggestions.
Online astronomy and space science resources.
Presentations by local astronomers – several of whom are volunteer NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassadors. Many of these volunteers will also do astronomy and space science presentations for your groups.
This all happens 6pm-midnight on both Fri. and Sat., Sept. 25th and 26th.
