Artists Set to Capture the Beauty of Maybury State Park  in the Northville Art House’s Plein-Air Exhibition 

The Northville Art House, in partnership with Maybury State Park and the Friends of Maybury State Park, has invited 18 artists to paint, draw, and sketch in the open air the natural beauty of the Maybury State Park in the Maybury State Park Juried Plein-Air Exhibition. The public is encouraged to visit the park to watch the artists creating artwork at various locations around Maybury State Park at a paint-out from July 23 to July 25, then visit the Northville Art House to see the completed artwork on view in the exhibition from July 31 to August 21.

Artists are competing for prizes totaling $1000, including a purchase prize of artwork for Maybury State Park Headquarters, to be presented during the Live @ 5 Reception, July 31, 5 – 8 pm at the Northville Art House. Exhibition juror Valerie Allen, Curator at Studio 23 in Bay City, MI and Ryan Kaltenbach, Creative Director at the Northville Art House will announce the winners at 6:30 pm. Live @ 5 tickets cost $35 for members and $30 for non-members and include appetizers catered by Style Chefs of Northville, two drink vouchers, and live music by Michigan Philharmonic.  Purchase tickets at www.northvillearthouse.org/liveat5.
