Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum and Leslie Science & Nature Center Fundraiser… Flutter: Celebrating Our Pollinators
An Elegant and Educational Fundraiser Event.
Friday, September 8th, 2023 6–9 p.m.
At The Leslie Science & Nature Center
Just as our pollinators sustain the planet, our supporters sustain us. With community partnership, we are able to steward our spaces, care for our wildlife ambassadors, and deliver content grounded in nature and science to hundreds of thousands of visitors and participants every year. Conservation education and the natural sciences are central to our work—through field trips, distance-learning programs, outreach programs, and educational events, we encourage 350,000 people annually to respect and understand science and the natural world, believing that curiosity today leads to more purposeful lives tomorrow.
At Flutter, we will share our community-driven vision for the future as well as how you can be a part of that future. Join us on September 8th for an unforgettable evening.
Attendees will…
·
Meet our wildlife ambassadors (live animal teachers!) as they walk the pollinator gardens of the Nature Center.
·
Find exciting opportunities in our silent auction featuring gift cards, pollinator-positive artwork, and exclusive experiences from an extensive group of local partners.
·
Enjoy a beautiful, seated meal with curated drinks under our tent. Dinner will be catered by Eat, along with dessert from Sweet Heather Anne. Drinks will be presented by Bløm Meadworks, Spencer, and Mothfire Brewing Co. Native plant and flower takeaways will be provided by Green Things Farm Collective and Feral Flora.
Why “Flutter”? Because this event is all about honoring the tireless work of our pollinator friends like bees, butterflies, birds, and bats, who play a crucial role in pollinating our native plants, sustaining our food sources, and maintaining the balance of nature. Over 80% of all food humans consume relies on processes of pollination.
