The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum and Leslie Science & Nature Center Present:
Flutter
Friday, September 6th, 2024; 5–9 p.m.
at the Leslie Science & Nature Center
1831 Traver Rd. Ann Arbor, MI 48105
We dream of a world where every child has the opportunity to explore the wonders of science and nature, sparking curiosity and innovation for generations to come. Realizing this vision can only occur with the advocacy, contributions, and expertise of our supporters. They allow us to preserve natural space, provide care for our wildlife ambassadors, and engage over 300,000 learners each year in science and nature-based education programming.
Flutter will gather 250 community leaders to raise funds for our Access for All initiatives, which offer discounted admission to the Museum for families receiving food assistance benefits via an EBT card and scholarships for Title I schools. In the past year, we offset $280,597 in admission fees, enabling 21,159 people to visit the Museum. We also directed over $65,000 in field trips scholarships for qualifying schools.
What to expect:
· Meet our wildlife ambassadors (live animal teachers!) as you walk the Nature Center’s pollinator gardens.
· Feed a Monarch Butterfly in our butterfly tent!
· Enjoy a seated meal with curated drinks under our tent. o Dinner will be catered by El Harissa, along with dessert from Sweet Heather Anne. o Drinks will be presented by Bløm Meadworks, Spencer, and HOMES Brewery. o Native plant and flower takeaways will be provided by Green Things Farm Collective and Feral Flora.
· Silent Auction featuring gift cards, pollinator-positive artwork, and exclusive experiences from an extensive group of local partners.
Buying tickets to Flutter enables us to create transformative moments of discovery for our entire community and equip the leaders of tomorrow with the STEAM education they need to be effective change-makers. Working in partnership, we can create a greener, more resilient future.
